Robert Fairweather turns music industry on its head with web based commercial free radio station and release of new album.
"I have been envisioning www.RobertFairweatherRadio.com for the last twenty years" said Robert. In fact, Robert Fairweather Radio has been on the web in one form or another for the last twenty years. It was only recently, though, that he added "radio" to his .com. "I look forward to the day when I want to hear a band and I can go to Princeradio.com or PinkFloydRadio.com and just listen to anything they ever released at any time of my choosing. No charge" . So, Fairweather decided to start the trend on his own. Play any songs, completely free, anytime, anywhere. Every song I've ever recorded...From your cell phone, computer, tablet you can just hit play and you will hear everything.
With over one million plays under his belt and distribution deals with Amazon, Itunes, Spotify, Pandora and others, Fairweather only expects things to get better with his new station. "In the past, we had the ability to showcase only a small portion of the tunes we've recorded. The rest just sat in the vaults or were only listenable in short samples on Itunes", he said. The new redesigned website is officially launched on April 1st. It will contain nearly everything he has recorded over the last twenty years. He likes to say "the good, the bad and the ugly" when referring to the songs. "Yes, everything I have ever recorded is there. If you have about seven hours, you can listen and find some real gems. These are all original songs. I know there are over a hundred songs there, at least.", he added. He put his web people on the project in January and they had the web radio set up after a couple of weeks.
'Metatron', containing twenty-five songs, is the new album Robert Fairweather he is releasing on April 1st. You can hear the complete album, along with every other song Robert has recorded starting in April. "The reaction has been great so far, I've received emails from around the world saying that they are checking out the radio station", added Robert. Robert is taking time off after recorded the twenty five songs on 'Metatron' to focus on a guitar teaching book that he has planned. 'Secrets of Lead Guitar' is expected to hit Amazon.com late summer.
